2009 THE VAULT. "Hold on to something steady when you pull the cork on this little vixen. She means business. A blend of equal parts Cabernet, Syrah and Zinfandel, this is right in the wheelhouse of fans of wines like "The Prisoner" and other such exercises in hedonism. Sweet, supple layers of black fruits, fruitcake, boysenberry and candied oak put the palate on lockdown right through the juicy finish. Only 625 cases made."

2009 THE VAULT. "Inviting, delicious "modern red blend" from Napa label designer- turned-vintner Pete Nixon. No secrets in this rich, forward, supple, spicy red. Smell and taste black cherries, pomegranate, cinnamon, mocha, cassis, vanilla…Easy to like!"

"Who says "Don't judge a book by its cover?" Banknote Wine Company doesn't just have the right look... it over-delivers in the bottle too. This up-and-coming producer boasts several delicious reds from Sonoma and Napa Counties, and a few more bargains from select vineyards statewide. When we tasted through their offerings, we were blown away by their price tags (unbelievable!) when they slapped around all their challengers in their categories. You best believe they do it right."

"We try to keep up, Lord knows we do. But, every once in a while, we're handed something totally out of left field that just knocks us tuchus-over-tea-kettle. Such was the sensation of tasting something called "The Vault"(?) by something called "Banknote Wine Company". (HUH?) Baffled - collectively baffled, never heard of the thing, not once, nowhere. We tried it and fell out of our cheap office-supply chairs. This wine is, no kiddin', a freakin' Revelation."

2008 THE VAULT. "Oh boy is this a huge wine. Probably one of the best wines I've had from California this year. This red took me back to those reasons why I fell in love with California wine in the first place."

Parallel Winos TV - November, 2011

_______

2008 COUNTERFEIT. "Blackberries and cherry preserves meet mocha and oak spice in a glass of wine that bears zero relationship to its price tag. We threw this into a lineup of notable Cabs (we won't name names) that go for $50+ and this finished second in the tasting. You'll thank us later for finding you a new house red."

"Allegiance 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon. Strongly flavored, lacking perhaps some nuance but makes up for it in sheer power. Mainly Cabernet Sauvignon, with some Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc, it wows with blackberry, cassis, blueberry and cherry flavors that finish dry and spicy. A good structure of tannins and acids suggests limited time on the cellar. Drink now through 2014.
90 Points!"

"The Vault 2008 by Banknote Wine Company. A lovely wine to drink now. It's soft, dry, balanced and complex, with berry, cherry, beef jerky, black pepper and spice flavors, and a sweet coating of smoky oak. Zinfandel, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon, in roughly equal parts. 90 Points!"

"THE SECOND RELEASE OF A CLASSIC! The Vaults’ newly released 2007 vintage, with its ideal growing conditions, truly embodies the best that Napa has to offer. Dare we say, the new vintage has even surpassed the quality of The Prisoner and is on the coattails of its popularity."

“Freshly uncorked this wine is clearly complex, each layer is pleasantly received and the wine exhibits subtle tannins and a medium body. The flavors flow smoothly one to another in ascending order. Ever present vanilla and all spice, black berries and cherry, mocha and leather dryness overcoming slight detection of residual sugar.
4 out of 5 stars when decanted.”
